Crows live 40 years

Occupant has just purchased a new recording studio from Sony corp.™ Some features: condenser mic, black, two lb, fast-forward, ear jack, the whole schmere. Yards of tape.

Our third anniversary was April 2, and it was commemorated by Q's first busk at the public library.

Tonight's composition: Crows live 40 years

I'm high as an electric kite
Scammin' Freddie's overbite
Should we even ask if no-one's near?
I try to boogie underground
My chauffeur says he's glory-bound
I think I found a fret without a fear

Hoo-wee! Valery!
Why does it depend on me?
Stickin' all your fingers in my pie
Hoo-wee! Valery!
We're not what we seem to be
Fillin' up your boots until you die

A stare-down from a hectic height
You crash into a ruby light
Cuz no one minds if I don't understand
Flower fruits without a bud
Impediments like Elmer Fudd
Or else I should make reference to a band

Hoo-wee! Valery!
Why does it depend on me?
Stickin' all your fingers in my pie
Hoo-wee! Valery!
We're not what we seem to be
Fillin' up your boots until you die

Tribute

Many have had a profound influence on Occupant
but none so much as this one. His eclectic stylings both musically and sartorially have been studiously observed by Q, Stella.

Rock on O'Brien.
Always the bold choice.

Lore

Occupant is now lore. Q has actually journaled for his homework about Occupant and so that's it - we're in the past. However, I wrote (what I think is) an occupant song today, in the tub, laughing to myself at its caustic charm...Pitta Derangement it's called.

Bjork!

We were about fifteen feet right in front of Bjork last week over at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby. This is the place where Q and I used to go to ride an old fashioned carousel for a dollar a throw. It's a quiet suburb of Vancouver. So the Bjork show was appropriate and ironic all at the same time. What looks large at a distance, close up aint never that big...Quick...what Bob Dylan song is that?

Anyway. I told Q I can't be a fan of Bjork because fannification is a kind of diminished state. We really enjoyed the performance. For me it was a crafty and classical program of wonderful songs. Beautiful horn section, scientific drum kit, mysterious knobs and dials, a clavicle, and a simple but effective lighting design.
